 Jason, Becky and Kids

I keep asking Jason what is on his list and all I get is a big "eye roll"  so.....I guess the kids wishes will have to do, after all--what makes them happy makes us happy too!

Our kids are wild about Hexbugs and would love hand me downs from the big cousins if they want to pass along any of the tracks/bugs.  They are really expensive when purchased new!  They each have a few bugs and Christian has one set that catapults the bugs into tunnels but we don't have any of the tracks or battle grounds (i think they are called?).  They have also been asking for the Aquabots that go in the water.

Kids also love books right now, they would enjoy the Harry Potter set that we could read as a family or any other good book series you think we might enjoy.

Family games are always a hit.

We love to indulge in Dominos Pizza and also have a Dunkin Doughnuts close by if you want to give a gift card, if we indulge in a movie our closest cinema is Bowtie or Regal.

I haven't talked to Carver, but.... Edited 11/28/15 okay, I have heard from Carver....

Of course everything computer.
  • There's some fun computer geek t-shirts out there. He wears a medium.
  • Or other computer geek paraphernalia.
  • A Steam Gift Card (I already suggested this, but is is what he mentioned also)
  • Google Play Gift Card
  •
He enjoys music, but has pretty good access to music, so I don't think he needs anything there.

He enjoys reading books in his down time. He likes Orson Scott Card books, but I believe he has read most of his books, don't know if he has anything new out, in the last year. So other authors similar to him he would probably like.

***updated - Food Gift Cards - Chick-fil-A is what he suggested

So until I hear something from him, this is what I can suggest. I can put you in contact with him if you want.

Carver's Mom
Okay, on my view of the blog, Ghia's comment is hidden unless you know to look for it and click on it, so I am going to post it so that everyone will see it without having to look for it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok some how I published on this blog before but even with Christie’s written directions it isn’t working for me. So, I’m going to try posting this as a comment and see if it shows up.
Everything on my old list is still accurate, except the pizza pan. I did think of a couple things I could add.
Kirk keeps loosing his tape measures so I figure he needs a couple more. He likes the orange construction ones because the bright color is easy to find but any size and style would be great. Get as many as you like he will find a place to use them or at least be able to find one when he needs it.
My request is similar. I need as many reading glasses as I can get. A set from Costco would be nice or I like the fun frames at Michael’s. I need 1.5 or 1.75 power.
Thanks, ghia
So I have been thinking about what to put on our list.
Top of my list would probably emergency preparedness items.
When we had a power outage a month ago or so it was very dark! We have lots of candles, but they don't throw off a lot of light and I didn't like leaving them around burning. Connor needed to do some reading for his English class and also needed it bright enough to do a few things in his room that needed more than just the beam of the head lamp. This summer I found out that although I thought I had bought some decent flashlights that when I took them down into the Ape Caves they gave out almost immediately even with brand new batteries. I felt bad because I had lent one of them to someone else who got stuck down in the cave without light until someone came along.
  • So good quality flashlights would be awesome, preferably ones that take AA or AAA batteries. I always have those on hand, C or D batteries not so much, so they aren't always fresh.
  • Or battery driven lanterns would be even better. Again AA/AA batteries. I was just looking on Amazon they have quite a few that don't cost too much and seem to have high ratings from customers.
  • Another thing Wayne and I were talking about was matches. Can't have enough matches. We were looking at some the the wind/water proof matches. Haven't bought anything. Or any other ideas for a good fire starter.
  • After our water issues year before last, it is always nice to have water filtration systems. The church online store has a water filtration bottle that is supposed to be really good. Click here to see. We have one, but another one would be nice.
  • Or items to go into a 72 hours kits. Ours haven't been revamped in awhile. Probably time to go through them again.
  • Or any other emergency preparedness items.
If you rather give us an entertainment package our local movie theater is a Regal. Or there is always Redbox. Wayne is more comfortable watching movies at home than in the theater.
Or some of the church DVDs, I saw the preview to "Cokeville Miracle" at  TOFW, It looked good. "Once I Was a Beehive" looked fun to me I don't know what the men in my family would think. Oh! there's "Pride or Prejudice, A Latter-Day Comedy" (Connor is always willing to watch various Pride and Prejudice movies with me!) or "Hank Smith Live" I heard him speak at TOFW he's really funny. Or "The Sarotov Approach" or "Ephriums Rescue" just to name a few that we don't have.
We like games although we don't play them as much as we used to anymore.
Okay, hope that gives you some ideas, Christie, Wayne and Connor
Riley's Wish List
Hello Family!
I am finally in a place stable enough to write my own Christmas list! Thank you Mom for doing it for me the last few years. Unfortunately I won't be this stable for long, I am now a proud part owner of a 4x4 van that I plan on traveling in all winter and eventually moving full time into once the river season starts again. So needless to say I really don't need any more stuff, as I am already having a hard enough time downsizing. But here are a few ideas:
Gift cards rock! Whole foods, Home Depot (for building supplies for the inside of the van), Gas card, REI, Aveda, Amazon...etc
This year I can finally start skiing again after two years away from the slopes, due to my knee injury, so new ski stuff is fun too, such as socks, or long underwear or other cheep warm fuzzy things for staying warm in the van.
And of course you can never go wrong with a pair of turquoise earrings :)
These are just a few ideas I can think of right of the top of my head, I also love surprises so feel free to use your imagination!
